SINGAPORE - Well-known Hokkien restaurant Beng Hiang has been suspended for two weeks and fined $800 for repeated cockroach infestations at its premises.

In a suspension notice on Monday (June 11), the National Environment Agency (NEA) said the restaurant accumulated 12 demerit points over the past 12 months for failing to keep the licensed premises free of cockroach infestation.

As a result, the restaurant in Jurong Gateway Road will be suspended for two weeks until June 24, said NEA.
