Shoppers at Tiong Bahru Plaza last Friday (Jan 27) were horrified after a man allegedly fell from height at around 3pm.
The deceased was a man in his 20s or 30s, Shin Min Daily News reported.
Several people working at the mall told the Chinese evening daily that they heard a loud sound and later saw a man lying on the ground floor.
"He kept vomiting blood, and no one dared to move him," one of them said.
Another eyewitness surnamed Huang shared that a woman working in the vicinity took out a first-aid kit and tried to help the man.
"But some people told her not to touch him and wait for the police and paramedics instead," the 48-year-old salesperson said.
"After the police arrived, they cordoned off the scene, and SCDF officers performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on him," Huang added.
Xu, who works on the third floor of Tiong Bahru Plaza, shared that she saw police officers interviewing an eyewitness.
"I heard that the woman saw the man at a coffee shop. After taking a phone call, he stood up and walked over to the glass barrier," the 53-year-old said.
Moments later, he was found on the ground floor.
Responding to AsiaOne's queries on Monday, the Singapore Civil Defence Force said that a man found in Tiong Bahru Plaza was conveyed to Singapore General Hospital that afternoon.
The man subsequently died of his injuries in hospital, Shin Min Daily News reported.
AsiaOne has contacted the police for more information.

Open letter from Jeffery Ho who sent the below text to Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Lawrence Wong via email
I note in today's Straits Times article, "Temasek to write down US$275 million in FTX, says belief in Bankman-Fried appears to be ‘misplaced’ (17 November 2022)" that Temasek participated in only 2 rounds of FTX's fundraising, in October 2021 and January 2022 -"These investments were carried out across two funding rounds from October 2021 to January 2022."
However, in another Straits Times article, "Crypto exchange FTX raises $566m in funding round co-led by Temasek (22 October 2021)", mentioned Temasek also participated in the earlier July 2021 Series B round. (refer to attached article links).
If indeed Temasek only participated in two rounds (not three), why didn't the Ministry of Finance/government POFMA The Straits Times (and other news agencies/websites) for the erroneous facts/fake news?
I think the wrong facts have to be earnestly pursued for correction/POFMA since the July 2021 investment round would have been made under then-CEO, Mdm Ho Ching's watch, before she stepped down on 1 October 2021.
Crypto exchange FTX raises $566m in funding round co-led by Temasek - 22 October 2021
"The financing, led by investors including Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board, Singapore investment company Temasek and Tiger Global, is a continuation of an earlier Series B funding round from July, when the two-year-old start-up raised US$1 billion from SoftBank, Temasek and other investors at a valuation of US$18 billion."
Crypto exchange FTX raises $420 million from 69 investors, in meme funding round - 22 Oct 2021
"The investment is a top-up to FTX’s series B financing round in July, in which it raised $900 million at an $18 billion valuation. FTX said it also scored an additional $100 million from Temasek which was not disclosed at the time."
Singapore’s Temasek holds stake in FTX, a target of Binance takeover - 9 November 2022
"Temasek invested in FTX in the Series B, Series B extension and Series C funding round. FTX raised US$1 billion, US$420 million and US$400 million in the three rounds."

SINGAPORE — From Monday (Nov 22), fully vaccinated people can dine together in groups of up to five, even if they are not from the same household. The two-person cap on social gatherings will also be raised to five persons, and households may take in up to five distinct visitors per day from Monday. The changes come after the Government announced that the Covid-19 "stabilisation phase" will end on Sunday. In a statement on Saturday, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said that Singapore will move into the “transition phase” of its reopening plan, bringing the country back on track on its four-stage roadmap to live with Covid-19. Right now, fully vaccinated people are allowed to dine at food establishments in groups of up to five only if they are from the same household. If they are from different households, they may only dine in groups of two. The easing of measures comes as the Covid-19 situation has improved since the stabilisation phase was extended for a month in October. In its statement, MOH said that as far as possible, households should accept only visitors who are vaccinated, so as to protect those who are unvaccinated from exposure to the coronavirus, adding that unvaccinated people should protect themselves by staying home as much as possible. “Visitors to households that have an unvaccinated person or vulnerable elderly are strongly encouraged to test themselves prior to the visit to ensure that they do not unwittingly transmit Covid-19 to those who are vulnerable.” Read more at https://www.todayonline.com/singapore/end-stabilisation-phase-5-fully-vaccinated-people-allowed-social-gatherings-dining-nov-22

SINGAPORE: This year's National Day Parade (NDP) will be postponed to Aug 21 after the scheduled end of Phase 2 (Heightened Alert), the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) said on Thursday (Jul 22).
A ceremonial parade will be held instead on the original date of Aug 9. "It will be similar to the one held last year at the Padang, but will take place at the Float@Marina Bay," the ministry said in a press release. "The heartland fireworks and Red Lions displays previously announced to be held over the Aug 7 to 8 weekend will be cancelled." The NDP rehearsal and preview, previously planned for Jul 24 and Jul 31 respectively, have also been postponed. "To prepare for the NDP on Aug 21, rehearsals will be conducted later in smaller component groups," MINDEF said, adding that the dates will not be announced so as to discourage crowds from gathering around Marina Bay. "Since 1966, the NDP has been held every year to mark Singapore’s independence," the ministry said. "This national event brings together Singaporeans from all walks of life, as one united people to affirm our unity and nationhood. The changes this year will enable NDP 2021 to be held in safer conditions, while maintaining that cherished tradition." Singapore on Thursday moved back to Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) amid a spike in COVID-19 cases. Group sizes for social gatherings have been reduced from five to two and dining-in has been suspended. The restrictions will be in effect until Aug 18. The Health Ministry said earlier this week that the Government will review the measures in two weeks. SINGAPORE — Mandatory SafeEntry (SE) check-ins at wet markets and hawker centres across Singapore will be progressively implemented over the coming weeks, said the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Tuesday (20 July). "This means that everyone entering wet markets and hawker centres must check in with their TraceTogether (TT) App or Token using the SEGW, or by scanning the SE QR code with the TT App," said the ministry in a news release. The move comes amid a spike in COVID-19 community infections, including two large clusters of cases linked to various KTV lounges or nightclubs as well as the Jurong Fishery Port. MOH noted that wet markets and hawker centres are frequently visited my members of the public and are places where seniors tend to congregate. There is high potential for transmission in such places given the "close proximity between individuals or mask-off activities, as evidenced by the recent clusters detected at these settings," the ministry added. As of Monday, COVID-19 infections have been detected at 26 markets and food centres. https://sg.news.yahoo.com/mandatory-safe-entry-singapore-wet-markets-hawker-centres-072626923.html
