... It baffles me that in this day and age that there are kids in p1 who DO NOT KNOW HOW TO READ. Meaning, they cannot even recognize simple sight words such as "he", "she", "it", "the", "is".
I don't want to say which race is the majority lah. You know, I know can already ah.
I've always thought kids are rezeki and amanah. Wouldn't or rather SHOULDN'T you as parents want your kids to have a better life than you did?!?
You can heng sana, heng sini sampai pagi2 buta, but you CANNOT spare 30 mins every day to read to/with your child?!
Busy working but you CANNOT spend time with your kid? Then why have kids in the first place?! Buat anak tau, didik dan jaga anak tak tau.
Please, if you think you don't have the means, there are these things called condoms and birth controls. They're cheaper than raising a child.
BTW, reading IS a basic necessity besides food, clothes, shelter. Depriving your child of basic education, is depriving your child of a better future.
P.S.: Special needs kids or anak syurga NOT included hor.
Disclaimer (updated) : CHILL PEOPLE. I didn’t say it is only for ONE race. I’m saying the MAJORITY is from a particular race. Please read carefully. Wait I kena kecam for things I didn’t say pulak. Heh.

Salam to all.
Firstly, I apologize to those who took my post as harsh. My intent was to raise awareness and I still stand by what I said.
Secondly, I hope many of you are relieved I have left the school. Why? Because I still choose to stand by what I said. (In fact, I left the service 2 years ago but I continued as adjunct teacher due to my love for teaching).
Thirdly, I hope in the thousands of shares that are going around, one important fact remains. We all see the need to help these students read. I still stand by what I said.
Fourthly, my intent was nothing more than to raise awareness. Now we are all aware...My objective is met. I will keep doing so because in my 14 years of teaching, many students have come forward to express their grief and sadness. If I were to ignore their cries for help, what kind of educator would I be? I still stand by what I said. Priorities!
Last but not least, I restricted the viral post because it was requested of me and to be in service for that long, it shows I do have respect for authority. I didn't delete the post. Why? Because I choose to stand by what I said; the post is still there for your perusal.
My journey with MOE may have come to a halt. But I will not stop teaching. I still stand by what I said.

It appears this Lenny ain't that smart herself going by her FB profile: she studied at Cedar Girls', CJC and then School of Physical Education and Sports Science (what the hell is that anyways-Diploma in PE or some shit?).
For a moment I thought she was a 1st Class Honours graduate from Harvard or Oxford University, or perhaps has a PhD.
Ever heard of the phrase " those who can, do; those who can’t, teach."?
Actually it reminded me of an incident back in JC when my teacher asked my class how many of us wanted to be teachers, and everyone laughed thinking it was a joke........well nuff said.
Hwah this teacher is too darn intense......but she meant well lah.
Atta girl.
