India struggles to wake up Vikram Moon lander and Pragyan rover on lunar mission
India has yet to hear from its Moon rover and lander as a new lunar day arrives, weeks after putting the two space explorers "to sleep".
The Pragyan rover from the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft was "set into sleep mode" with batteries charged and receiver on, in early September after landing on the Moon.
India's Vikram lander was also put to sleep beside Pragyan, and both were expected to reawaken on Friday.
"Efforts have been made to establish communication with the Vikram lander and Pragyan rover to ascertain their wake-up condition," India's Space Research Organisation (ISRO) said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"As of now, no signals have been received from them.
