Speaking to Shin Min, the police said that they had received a report of an unnatural death.

Strong smell of decay: reporters
Shin Min reporters at the scene observed that there were three police officers stationed outside the unit on Feb. 3.
They added that there was a strong smell of decay.
Officers were present until around 11pm, when they moved the body.
An 80-year-old neighbour told reporters that the deceased was tall and was well-built.
However, he rarely communicated with neighbours due to a language barrier.
The neighbour said that the man had lived there for about two years.
While the deceased is believed to have lived with his father, neighbours shared that they had not seen the older man for about eight months.
The neighbour added that the man's mother stays in Choa Chu Kang, and surmised that the older man might have moved in with her.

Man found dead in Sengkang flat after neighbour alerted police about pungent smell
Concerned about the stench emanating from her neighbour's flat, a Sengkang resident called the police.
When police officers arrived at the unit at Block 443B Fernvale Road on Wednesday (Dec 6) morning, they discovered that a 53-year-old man had died alone in his home.
According to Shin Min Daily news, about six police officers were at the scene.
The unit was also cordoned off.
The man's neighbour, who called the police, said that he moved into the flat about 11 years ago.
"I noticed a stench last week, but I didn't think it came from a decomposing body. I just thought it was odd that I hadn't seen my neighbour in a while."
The man was often in and out of the hospital, she said.
Although social workers visited his flat to deliver food, she didn't think anything was amiss when he did not come out to collect the food.
"The smell got stronger over time. No one answered when I knocked on his door, so I went to report the matter to the town council.
"They told me to contact the police, and that was how I realised he died in his home several days ago."
The woman recalled that two of the man's relatives visited him many years ago. They gave her their contact information but she lost their numbers after changing her mobile phone.
Responding to AsiaOne's queries, the police confirmed that they received a call for assistance at Block 443 Fernvale Road at about 10.35am on Wednesday.
A 53-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Based on preliminary investigations, the police do not suspect foul play.
Police investigations are ongoing.

Speculation linking Singapore Sports School student's death with Covid-19 vaccination untrue, irresponsible: MOH
SINGAPORE — Speculation that the death of a 14-year-old Singapore Sports School student is linked to Covid-19 vaccination is "untrue and irresponsible", said the Ministry of Health (MOH) on Saturday (Oct 14).
Secondary 2 student Pranav Madhaik died on Wednesday after he felt unwell during a 400m fitness time trial on Oct 5.
On Saturday afternoon, the school revealed that the cause of death was cardiac arrest with antecedent cause of congenital malformation of coronary vessels.
"Based on the Ministry of Health’s vaccination records, the student had received his last dose of Pfizer-BioNTech's Comirnaty Covid-19 vaccine more than 18 months ago," said the ministry.
"About 60 strokes and heart attacks happen every day, with or without Covid-19 vaccinations. It is highly irresponsible to link the two.
"For an unvaccinated person, the risk of Covid-19 infection leading to severe illness, far outweighs that of vaccination."
In a press statement on Saturday, the Singapore Sports School said Pranav told the badminton coach that he was feeling unwell after completing a 400m fitness time trial at about 6.26pm on Oct 5.
The coach told him to rest and the boy did so at the side of the starting point of the track while the coach attended to the time-trial data on his phone.
The coach then left the track to brief other students on competition matters, not realising that Pranav was still resting at the same place. He then left the school premises after the briefing.
The teenager interacted with two other groups of students before a track and field coach noticed him. After he was given water, the coach assessed that Pranav had difficulty getting up, even with help.
An ambulance was called and his parents were informed. The badminton coach returned to accompany Pranav to the hospital.
The 14-year-old died six days later on Oct 11.
The coach has been served a notice of dismissal.
"It was found that the Badminton coach should have checked on Pranav to ensure his well-being before leaving the track.
"He did not account for all his student-athletes before dismissing them from training, which was not in accordance with the school’s safety protocols," said the school, adding that it has met with the boy's parents and extended its condolences.
